Robert Fawcett  Painter

Born in Cambridge in 1966, Robert Fawcett attended Cambridge College of Art (1984 – 1985), Byam Shaw School of Art (1985 – 1988) and the Royal College of Art (1990 – 1992). Robert has exhibited prints, paintings and drawings for shows at The Mall Galleries, London; Temple Gallery, Paris; Duna, Barcelona; Terrence Rogers Fine Art, Santa Monica; and Malborough Graphics and The Forum Gallery, New York. He has been included in a touring exhibition of the US: Modern Portraiture and has had solo shows with Jill George Gallery, London. He has also received numerous awards, including the Daler-Rowney Prize, Neville Burston Award and Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation twice.

 

As well as an artist, Robert is an Associate Professor and has been teaching figure drawing and painting for over 20 years in some of the most influential schools in the country, including: the Royal College, St. Martins and The Royal Drawing School.

 

An accomplished copyist, Robert is regularly commissioned to replicate old masters for private clients, interior designers and film & television projects. He has also undertaken large-scale restoration projects as a gilder and specialist finisher.

 

Robert’s painting ‘Frank As Androcles’ was selected for the John Moores Painting Prize 2014, and 'Parotia' for the BP Portrait Award 2015
